MEN IN KILTS

COMPETITION

We are looking for a few Good Men! The Maryland Irish Festival will host it’s Second Annual Men in Kilts Competition on Sunday November 14th at 5pm in Antrium Hall. You may register online, by mail, or at the Festival Information Booth. There will be 5 award categories: Best Fireman/Policeman, Best Every Man, Over 50, Knobby Knees, and Judge’s Choice (Big Fella).

Contestants will be judged on the following:

Authenticity; Style; Personality and Presentation

Any man wearing a kilt is welcome to participate.

ChildrenThe Children’s Section at the Maryland
Irish Festival is located between the two main halls.

The Section provides a safe environment for children to explore their Irish heritage through arts, face-painting, crafts, games, dancing, and music.  Throughout the weekend of the Festival, the Children’s section will feature open crafts, moon-bounces, miniature golf, Gaelic Games, and dancing demonstrations. Please check the schedule below for special workshops and their times. Please check back often for additions to the workshops.

12:00 pm -1:00pm  Totes and Backpacks

Prepare for your adventure at the Irish Festival and create a magical tote to carry your dreams.

1:00pm – 2:00pm Puppets, Puppets, Puppets
Have fun creating your own puppets and let your puppets tell a story.

2:00pm-3:00pm Tic Tac Toe Boards
Amaze your family and friends with your own Tic Tac Toe boards with a tote that matches your personality.

4:00pm-5:00pm  Fabric Printing Workshops
Leaves, Potatoes, markers, and lots of imagination will be used in this workshop to create colorful, patterned fabric squares.

6:00pm-7:00pm  Flower Making
Use your imagination to make a bouquet of beautiful Irish flowers

Children will make books that help explore their Irish Heritage and Language.

Celebrate your Irish heritage with rhythm, music, and song by making your own instrument.

Amaze your family and friends with your own Tic Tac Toe boards with a tote that matches your personality.

3:00pm-4:00pm Family Coat of Arms.
Create a unique coat of arms that represents your family’s heritage.
